About Us

The Akins-Bell Foundation Inc., is a 501(c)(3) organization committed exclusively for the purposes as specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The specific objectives and purposes of the Akins-Bell Foundation, Inc. is an organization operating in the field of family unity and the preservation of genealogy, and for the following purpose:

a.    To promote the tradition of conventions and to cultivate a wholesome relationship between all Akins and Bells and their extended family members and friends.

b.    To stimulate family members and friends in honoring past generations and celebrating with current generations in a manner to give honor, respect, and dignity to our ancestors and to ourselves.

c.    To foster a close relationship between family members and friends that live within the United States and all neighboring countries through media contact and to provide a pleasant and helpful social experience for all.

The purpose for which this incorporated group of families and friends is formed is to provide a non-profit service of corporate administration to plan, stimulate and promote conventions, family history, and other community special programs, education, and the arts to enhance the families' heritage.


A.    To be charitable by awarding scholarships;

B.    To educate for career development and to promote education relating to health and wellness; 

C.   To promote the enhancement of the perfoming arts.

D.   To be spirit based - by promoting family values; 

E.    To teach self-awareness and the knowledge of one's history which establish an appreciation for education, which leads to economic opportunity and achievement.
